Basic copy editing.

This is where I focus on fixing any grammatical errors, enhance sentence flow and tone, examine your paper’s structure and outline, as well as improve/polish word choice/usage. To review what I look for while editing, I analyze grammar, syntax, sentence structure and flow, comprehension, frequency of word use, capitalization, spelling, adjective use, punctuation, word choice, citations, etc. This is generally a typically written paper with common issues/needed improvements.

Heavy copy editing.

This is similar to all of the above services, but the writer may be struggling to a much greater degree and therefore, significantly more time and effort needs be put forth to get their paper in working order. Additionally, I would identify and solve issues with clarity and/or accuracy, reorganize paragraphs or sections of chapters, as well as rewriting segments to improve readability.

Developmental editing.

This type of editing not only focuses on copyediting at the sentence level, but also looks at the big picture concepts of your manuscript to ensure consistency, logic, and flow. Reworking of various drafts may also be needed, as well as helping to organize content and providing research as needed.

Proofreading.

This is a much lighter editing job than basic copyediting or heavy copyediting. Basically, it is the last line of defense before the book is published or the work is turned in, so the proofreader makes sure that all remaining mistakes are fixed and the submission is polished and cleaned up.

Please note that any last minute submissions that need to be completed in a rush (within 24-28 hours), or if the client wishes to have the project completed in a much shorter time than originally discussed, they will incur a 20% service fee.

All projects may be paid on PayPal to akcarp27@yahoo.com. The client and I will discuss whether they want the project to be split into multiple payments throughout the project or if payment will take place at the beginning of the project.
